Jennifer Sterger doesn’t seem to have any sympathy for Brett Favre’s Parkinson’s plight.
Sterger, a former Jets host who accused the Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback of sending inappropriate and explicit text messages during his lone season in New York in 2008, took to social media to offer her own thoughts on the revelations about Favre’s health.
Favre made his diagnosis public on Tuesday while testifying at a congressional hearing on welfare waste and reform.
“PS: Please don’t send me links. I’ve seen them. I can read them,” Sterger wrote on his Instagram Story. “I don’t wish any ill will on anyone, but I know karma never forgets an address. What if a Hall of Fame quarterback gets diagnosed with such a terrible disease and has no way to fight it because of something he stole?
“Those are the people who need your attention, your support and your sympathy. And at least now his photo will not be in focus. Mississippi, you deserve to be treated better.”
Favre, who was implicated in a Mississippi welfare scandal in which he allegedly misused welfare funds in the state for personal projects, spoke about his diagnosis before the House Ways and Means Committee.
“Sadly, I also lost my investment in a company (Prevacus) that I believed was developing a groundbreaking concussion treatment that could help others,” Favre said. “As you can all understand, I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease so it’s too late for me, but this is important to me.”
In 2010, two years after Favre allegedly sent inappropriate text messages and photos to Sterger, the NFL investigated her claims but could not conclude that Favre had violated the league’s workplace code of conduct.
He admitted to sending the voicemail to Sterger and was fined $50,000 for failing to cooperate with the league’s investigation.
This isn’t the first time Sterger has criticized Favre for his involvement in the Mississippi welfare scandal.
In 2023, she wrote to X, “Oh… now he’s in trouble for inappropriate text messages” after X was allegedly involved in a controversy.
