The first footage of Jeremy Allen White playing the role of Bruce Springsteen in the biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere has been released as production progresses.
Directed and written by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostels), Deliver Me From Nowhere is based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same name, written about the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska. It is a movie made from a book. Filming will take place primarily in Springsteen’s home states of New Jersey and New York, with additional production in Los Angeles, and the film is expected to be released in theaters next year.
According to a press release, Springsteen’s recording of “Nebraska” marked a “pivotal period in his life, a period he would not speak publicly about until decades after its release.” The song is a landmark in his musical journey and is considered a source of inspiration for generations of artists and musicians. Recorded in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom on a 4-track recorder without the E Street Band, Nebraska is considered one of Springsteen’s most enduring works, and he’s looking for a reason to believe. It’s a vivid, ghostly acoustic record where lost souls gather. ”
In addition to Allen White, the cast also includes Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Paul Walter Hauser as guitar technician Mike Butlan, and Odessa Young, who is rumored to play Springsteen’s girlfriend. In May, Variety reported that Jeremy Strong was also in talks to play Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau.
“Starting production on this film has been an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,” Cooper said in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Nebraska’ deeply shaped my artistic vision. This album’s raw and raw depiction of life’s challenges and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zane’s compelling story of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, in an innovative cinematic experience. We’re thrilled to be working with Bruce and John (Landau) to tell their story. Their creative energy has fueled every part of this journey. I’m also excited to be reunited with my friend David Greenbaum (President of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios), who is embarking on a new role at Disney and is excited about this project. It gives me great inspiration.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere, from Disney’s 20th Century Studios, stars Cooper and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vane (The Maze Runner trilogy, Juror No. 2) and Eric Robinson (Kodachrome). ”, “Last Days”). ), developed the project with Cooper. Scott Stuber (“Frankenstein,” “Ted”) will also produce. Tracy Landon (Maestro, Amsterdam) and Zanes, who recently worked with Cooper on Pale Blue Eye, will serve as executive producers.
