On Danielson’s silence after his loss at Wrestle Dream: “I stayed silent because I didn’t know what to say to continue to sell this moment. And Vianne Danielson said that he… The fact that he said in his words that the day he lost the title was the end of his day. So I didn’t know what to say… There was nothing I could add to help it. In my opinion, the pictures and the natural sounds really enhance the story. That’s why I laid it out at the end. I know Excalibur was very emotional. I didn’t understand it that deeply, but I appreciated his passion. I am.”
About the match: “It was a really good match. They told a great story. It was physical. It was intense. If Moxley can get that much passion out of Bryan, then he It’s not that Brian isn’t passionate, but he had to go to a different level in a way. Like I said, he had to go to a different place in this scenario. , I talked to Brian before the show. He was actually in the same locker room I was in. So I said, ‘What are you going to do if we lose?’ Or maybe because I didn’t want to know right then and there. I just didn’t need to know. I can see it on the monitor, so I will do my best to call you.
“So he said, ‘That’s what I said.’ If you lose the title, your full-time wrestling career is over. I added a little caveat. So what does that tell me? And it’s clear – any old-school wrestling fan will know – that he’s going to wrestle again somewhere. He might change his mind and want to get back into contention and then retire. Who knows? But for now, he’s gone. I know it’s over. And you know, we always have high expectations for our favorites. He’s the sweetest and easiest person to work with in the last 50 years. One of the guys, Conrad. I mean, he keeps his word. He never takes a day off. I mean, last week. I’m a bigger Bryan Danielson fan today than I was in Tacoma on Saturday. It was an emotional night, to say the least. This PPV was a great show. I thought it was wonderful.”
On the Triple Threat International Title Match: “They really did it. They gave it their all and took their chances. I think everyone progressed in their own matches. It was a great performance from all three. They took it to the next round. And I’m just amazed sometimes – and that’s no disrespect to the other players, but Ospreay is special. He’s a really, really special guy. I was happy to be able to see this work as a fan.”
