What are Johnny Depp and Will Smith doing in Italy?
Despite dropping out of the film academy and being barred from the Oscars for a decade, Will Smith is still keeping himself pretty busy. He and Johnny Depp are in Italy, where they’ll be performing at Andrea Bocelli’s three-night, star-studded concert at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico. At this point, it’s unclear what either Depp or Smith will be performing with Andrea Bocelli. The surprise gig is likely unexpected for the Edward Scissorhands actor, since Depp began touring as a musician with the late Jeff Beck shortly after his trial with Amber Heard ended, so he certainly has a clear musical background to draw on when performing with an iconic voice like Bocelli’s.
As for Will Smith, he obviously has a background in music as well. He recorded numerous albums throughout the ’90s and early 2000s, and also sang the iconic Fresh Prince theme song. Smith most recently starred as Genie in the live-action Aladdin, where he lent his musical talents a hand in songs such as the popular “Friend Like Me.”
