Next week’s August 15 episode of Impact is shaping up to be a big one. TNA has booked two PPV-worthy matches for that night: Josh Alexander heavily criticizes Nick Nemeth for his time with WWE to set up a World Title match, and the feud between Moose and Mike Santana escalates after a parking lot brawl.
The scene was set for Thursday night (August 8, 2024). Alexander explained to the crowd the reason for his heel turn. He taunted the crowd for betraying him. Alexander doesn’t think he’s changed. He blames the crowd for changing. They were rooting for him just a few weeks ago, and then they decided to believe in Joe Hendry. Alexander worked so hard to be the heart and soul of TNA. Hendry is just a meme.
Alexander then shifted his focus to regaining the TNA World Championship. He criticized Nemeth for wanting to be the face of TNA. TNA already has a face, and that’s Alexander. The walking weapon concluded with some harsh words: If he beats Nemeth, people will call him the same thing he did in WWE: the interim champion.
Nemeth came into the ring to respond and grabbed the microphone. Instead of speaking, Nemeth shoved the microphone down Alexander’s throat and delivered a superkick, a little retaliation for Alexander’s vile attack on Ryan Nemeth last week. The Wanted Man told the world he was a mixed martial arts champion, so Alexander could have a match next week.
Last week, Santana accused Moose of sending Johnny “Dango” Curtis to sabotage his world title ambitions. Santana has dominated the JDC and now it’s time to settle things with the leader of the system. Santana wants Moose’s head in the box.
This week, Moose reacted. He’s not scared of Santana. Moose responds to Santana like Old Yeller.
As Impact went off the air, cameras captured a brawl between Santana and The System in the parking lot, and TNA announced that Santana would face Moose in a match next week.
TNA has two highly anticipated matches scheduled for Impact, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be much buzz surrounding a rematch at Emergence on August 30th.
