Hailey and Justin Bieber announced the birth of their first child on Friday.
On Friday evening, Justin shared a photo of the baby’s feet in an Instagram post. “Welcome back Jack Bruce Bieber,” Justin captioned the post with a bear emoji.
Hailey shared the same photo on her Instagram Story, captioning it with the baby’s name as well as a teddy bear and blue heart emoji.
The couple did not provide any further details, such as when the baby was born. A representative for Hailey Bieber told CNN on Friday night that no further details were available.
The Canadian singer, 30, and model Justin, 27, who have been married for six years, announced the pregnancy in May with a series of photos on their respective Instagram pages. The couple posted pictures of Hailey showing off her belly in a pure white lace dress. At the time, Hailey was already six months pregnant. In one photo, Justin was seen lovingly cradling her belly.
Hailey told W magazine last month that she decided to go public with her pregnancy so she could have fun “on the outside,” adding that she “just wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
“At the beginning of my pregnancy, it was very emotional for me. I was like, ‘I love this human being so much, how can I bring someone else into this?'” she said.
Justin’s hit single “Baby” catapulted him to teen pop stardom in 2010. He has won two Grammy Awards and had eight number one hits.
Hailey founded the skincare brand Lorde and has modelled for major brands such as Guess, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger.
In 2018, Justin announced their engagement on his Instagram page, writing, “Hailey, I love everything about you! I will dedicate my life to getting to know every part of you and loving you patiently and tenderly.”
Just months after announcing their engagement, the couple married in a secret ceremony at a New York courthouse, then wed again in 2019 in a lavish ceremony attended by family and friends at a luxury resort in Bluffton, South Carolina.
After the pregnancy was announced, Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, posted a video of her reaction to her verified Instagram account.
“I’ve been waiting so long for this day and now that they’re sharing it with me, I finally get to celebrate with everyone,” Mallett said. “Wow, to be a grandma! Oh my God! Justin and Hailey, you guys are going to be the best parents ever. I’m so excited. Oh my God. Praise God.”
