Kanye West, who just released two “Vultures” albums with Ty Dolla $ign earlier this year, announced a new album titled “Bully” and performed the song at a show at Wuyuanhe Stadium in Haikou, China. Today we performed “Beauty and the Beast” for the first time.
Near the end of his performance, he took a moment to reveal that he was aiming for a new record. “There’s a new album coming out,” he told the audience. “The album is called ‘Bully,’ and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.'” In the song, West sings the following lyrics over a gentle instrumental: It’s to keep the audience engaged / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to change direction. ”
West’s longtime collaborator Mike Dean commented on Instagram that “Beauty and the Beast” was “leftover from Donda,” suggesting he intended it to be on his 2021 album. In addition to announcing “Bully” and premiering the song, West also premiered what fans are describing as a complete version of “530,” a song from “Vultures 2,” with two verses added.
Of course, West fans know that album announcements should be taken with a grain of salt. This year alone, both “Vultures” albums suffered delays. The first was delayed for several months before it was inevitably released on February 10th, while the second was originally released on March 8th and finally arrived on streaming services on August 3rd. It was scheduled to be published.
West also has a history of picking and dropping projects, dating back to “Good Ass Job,” which was originally intended to follow his first three albums. Over the years, he was rumored to release albums such as ‘TurboGrafx 16’, ‘Yandhi’, and ‘Love Everyone’, but none of them materialized as official releases.
The rapper was in China today for his second performance this month. He took to the stage on September 15 for his last listening party experience, his first performance in this country in 16 years.
Over the past year, West has been organizing listening parties in support of Ty Dolla $ign’s “Vultures” trilogy, and has recently made appearances in South Korea and Salt Lake City. They were scheduled to perform at an event in Taiwan in late August, but it was canceled a few days ago.
