Khloe Kardashian thanked Manish Malhotra for dressing her in her “amazing outfits” at Ambani’s wedding, calling him a “homegrown designer”.

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian recently attended the grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai along with her sister Kim Kardashian. Khloe wore Indian outfits designed by renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra, who sparked controversy by calling him a “local designer”. She posted some pictures from the Ambani family wedding on Instagram on Tuesday. She was decked out in a hot pink embellished lehenga and matching blouse by Manish Malhotra. Khloe wrote in the caption, “Thank you India! A dream come true! Kim and I are so grateful for your kindness in sharing your culture with us for a few days. Magical memories.”

She added, “@manishmalhotra05 @manishmalhotraworld the beautiful outfits you made for us were so intricate, detailed and breathtaking! Thank you @lorraineschwartz you really know how to dress a girl in diamonds! We felt like princesses… you are the best.”

Manish commented on her post, “It was an honour and a lot of fun to design and customise the outfit. Great memories meeting you all (heart emoji).” One fan commented, “Indian Barbie Goddess,” while another commented, “Chloe this might be your best look ever!!”

She took to Snapchat to share her experience at the Ambani wedding and also revealed details about her outfit, writing, “Guys, all the clothes I am wearing are just so beautiful. They are just beautiful clothes designed by a local designer, who I will mention later on, but everything is just… absolutely everything is just stunning.”

She further praised her own Indian look, saying, “I love this pop pink dress. The vibrancy, the detail, the intricacy. It’s amazing.” Her statement calling Manish a “local designer” left many social media users upset.

“Chloe calling Manish a ‘local designer’ shows how ignorant and uncaring they are about India. For the same reason these people don’t deserve any of the publicity they receive just for attending a wedding,” wrote one social media user.

In another post, Khloe praised Manish: “Our stylist worked with world renowned designer Manish Malhotra to create amazing dresses for our trip!” She also wrote, “I got it! How am I going to pull off all this without anyone helping me? I didn’t think it through. Isn’t this insanity?”
