Liam Gallagher has revealed his brutal reaction to the Oasis parody on Saturday Night Live.
The popular US variety show aired a skit on Saturday night (October 12) mocking Gallagher and his brother Noel ahead of the brothers’ reunion tour next year.
British viewers rebelled against the parody, with many pointing out that the series did not accurately capture the Manchenian brothers’ accents.
Below a clip of the sketch on X/Twitter, a fan tagged Gallagher in the comments and wrote, “Have you seen this?”
Gallagher then gave his verdict on the skit, writing, “Are they meant to be comedians?”
On SNL, Liam was played by Sarah Sherman and Noel was played by James Austin Johnson.
After the episode aired, social media was flooded with criticism of the sketch.
“Horrible…I don’t care about things like SNL but this #Oasis sketch was painful to watch,” one person wrote on X/Twitter. “I literally couldn’t get through it. It was really bad.”
“SNL did the Oasis thing and it’s just as disgusting as you can imagine,” another wrote.
“SNL, if you’re going to do Oasis, don’t make it someone from Essex,” commented another viewer, while another wrote: “JFC, Oasis’ segment on #SNL Weekend Update was terrible. I had no idea Oasis was secretly operating out of London…”
Last month, Gallagher faced criticism for singing during a performance at a boxing match at Wembley Stadium.
The set was the first time he had performed live since Oasis’ reunion was announced a few weeks ago.
After fans disparaged his vocals, the notoriously short-tempered musician hit back with an angry post on X/Twitter.
“To all the S***C***s who cried over my ANGELIC TONES last night, you guys are not real fans, you’re just scammers,” he wrote. “And if you have tickets you’d like to get rid of, I’ll gladly take them from your hands. We don’t want people like you at our concerts next year, LF***ING .”
Oasis will tour the UK and Europe in 2025, with further tours planned around the world.
