Lincoln is making a big change to the largest vehicle in its lineup by adding a panoramic display across the entire dashboard. The 2025 Navigator SUV is the company’s second vehicle to feature the Ford-developed, Android-based digital dashboard, with the first implementation being introduced in the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus.
The new Navigator, debuting at Monterey Car Week, adopts the Lincoln Digital Experience over the Nautilus’ panoramic display (two screens, to be exact), giving it a more stylish, open feel and adding contrasting speakers on the sides, while the Nautilus’s same continuous curved display stretches from pillar to pillar for a more cohesive look and trim that’s in line with the doors.
According to Lincoln communications manager Annika Salceda-Waycoco, the Navigator and Nautilus have the same functional setup, except the Navigator has a new entertainment feature called Pano Mode, which Salceda-Waycoco said “adds the ability to enjoy video streaming and gaming on both sides of the 48-inch panoramic display.”
Surprisingly, panoramic mode isn’t available on the Nautilus, which is limited to playing games and movies on a small central touchscreen. But that may change. “We’re talking about it first with the Navigator and will have more to share in the future,” Salceda-Waycoco said. The Navigator is also the first model to feature Lincoln’s “Rejuvenate Mode” spa experience, which was announced for the 2024 Nautilus but didn’t make it in time for launch.
Rejuvenate mode adds sounds and scenery, like the Northern Lights, to the screen, tilts the seat back, turns on massagers and heaters, and spreads air freshener scents for a five- or 10-minute break. The 2025 Nautilus will also have the feature at launch, Salceda-Waicco said, and Lincoln will “have more details on timing coming soon” for the current 2024 model. The Navigator will include a waterfall meditation experience that works with the Calm app, and owners will also get a free one-year subscription.
Sit in the Navigator’s middle row and you’ll find adjustable captain’s chairs with a host of features in the front row (including massage functionality), two touchscreens for entertainment, and the option of a 5.8-inch central control screen for climate control, etc. Beyond the folding third row is a split tailgate that opens automatically as you approach the car.
The Navigator also gets a refreshed look, with an updated front fascia that looks more like the new Nautilus, including a light bar running across the middle. Unfortunately, the Navigator hasn’t undergone any changes under the hood this year. It’s still a big gasoline truck with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, and there’s no hybrid option like the Nautilus.
Lincoln has said it plans to launch three new all-electric vehicles by 2025, with a fourth by 2026. But earlier this year, the brand’s CEO sounded much more pessimistic about those deadlines.
