Lupita Nyong’o and Joshua Jackson’s hot romance has cooled down.
The “Black Panther” star spoke about his cat Yoyo and revealed that he is single in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK published on Wednesday.
“My love for cats is extraordinary. If I’m ever lucky enough to be in a romantic relationship again, it’s because of him,” she said.
“I was ready to close and lock the door and tighten the bolts. He kept my heart open.”
Page Six has reached out to Jackson’s representatives for comment.
Nyong’o adopted Yoyo from the Best Friends Animal Society in October 2023 after breaking up with sports commentator Thelema Masekela.
Coincidentally, she and Jackson were first spotted at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles that month.
The two confirmed their romance in December 2023, walking hand in hand in Joshua Tree, California.
In March, the pair passionately kissed while celebrating Nyong’o’s 41st birthday on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, proving their relationship was more than just a fling. .
Jackson, 46, is also newly single. His estranged wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce in October 2023 after four years of marriage.
The Queen & Slim star, 38, broke her silence about her new relationship with her ex in June, saying: “I really hope they’re happy and that it’s good for our family.” he said.
Nyong’o did not discuss her relationship with Jackson in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, but reflected on her public breakup with Masekela.
“Experiencing heartbreak in your personal life is difficult enough,” the Oscar winner said.
“When the image of you in your relationship with someone else is out in the world, that memory is hidden in the public domain, prolonging the healing process.”
After saying goodbye to Masekela, Nyong’o admitted that she was going through a “period of heartbreak due to a love that suddenly and catastrophically disappeared due to deception.”
She also said she “could no longer trust” her ex-girlfriend.
