Technical details of the L946 are unknown, but it is said to be a PHEV. This SUV has some familiar Lynk & Co design features, including sharp LED daytime running lights. Nothing official yet, but it’s expected to hit the market sometime next year.
Lynk & Co has released the first official photos of its new SUV L946. It won’t be ready for launch until next year, but it promises to take Chinese brands into previously untapped market segments.
The large SUV, now known as the L946, is instantly recognizable as a Lynk & Co model thanks to its bold LED daytime running lights that look like eagle talons. The main headlamps are positioned slightly lower in the face. There doesn’t seem to be a traditional front grille, but there is a small grille area towards the base of the bumper.

From the side, the L946 resembles a Range Rover Sport, but looks slightly lower and longer. The door handles are placed flush with the car body, and a LiDAR sensor is installed on the roof. Black and silver wheels sit atop orange brake calipers.
The Lynk & Co’s bodywork is all decked out in camouflage, but you can still see part of the LED taillights extending below the rear quarter panels. Unfortunately, the brand has yet to release interior photos of the SUV or confirm powertrain details.
CarNewsChina expects the L946 to be sold as a plug-in hybrid like most other Lynk & Co models. There is a possibility that the plug-in hybrid will be borrowed from the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P. This sleek fastback sedan has a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder working in parallel with an electric motor to produce a total of 375 horsepower.
In October, Lynk & Co announced its first EV for the European market, the 02. It’s a rear-wheel-drive crossover coupe with a 66kWh battery pack and 268hp electric motor, priced under €36,000 in most major markets.
