The final day of runway shows at Milan Fashion Week on Saturday (September 21) was packed with celebrities and saw crowds of enthusiastic fans moving from venue to venue, as designers previewed their mostly spring/summer 2025 women’s wear.
Madonna sat front row at Dolce & Gabbana alongside Naomi Campbell and Maneskin’s Victoria De Angelis, while her bandmate and Maneskin frontman Damiano David showed up at Diesel, one of the hottest tickets of the season, on the other side of town.
Madonna attempted a semi-stealth appearance at Dolce & Gabbana, donning a black veil during a runway show that referenced ’90s style and showing off the cone bra she debuted on her 1990 tour.
Models in bleached blonde wigs stalked in Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s signature corsets and fitted jackets, all featuring aggressively feminine cone bras, in a collection described as “paying tribute to iconic and powerful female figures.”
Though Madonna isn’t specifically mentioned by name, the Milan designer and the pop star’s star power have been in sync ever since he created the costumes for her 1993 tour, “The Girlie Show,” which promoted Madonna’s album, “Erotica,” which was released at the same time as her taboo-breaking coffee table book, “Sex.”
The collection, titled “Italian Beauty,” was of the moment. Cropped jackets with pencil skirts revealed cone bras, garters swayed from corsets, and coats sculpted the figure. Floral prints returned in a color palette of black, nude, red, and white. Oversized crucifix earrings accented the looks. Heels were majestically tall.
After the designers finished their introductions, they walked down the runway to greet their guests, and Madonna, still wearing her long Chantilly lace veil and gold and crystal crown, rose to her feet and embraced them both.
