Clan wars have multiple layers. The actual movement may take some time to get used to, as the legs move on their own trajectory while rotating the torso. There’s the team and how they’re deployed, and that’s a lot of the background thought cycle. And then there’s the mech, its heating level, armor status, speed, and everything else you set yourself during customization.
Both the enemy and the co-pilot are, well, pretty stupid. There’s quite a bit of variety in what you’re facing and what you have to do, but no one but you on the field knows how verticality works or how the field works at that moment. doesn’t seem to have a good sense of what is most important. Once you accept that your squadmates are powerful dummies, you learn to let go of your mechs a bit and spend more time poking them or jumping into the cockpit to take over spells.
The nature of mech combat in these games just didn’t click with me after six missions. At some levels, it’s interesting to master a variety of weapons, position yourself with limited movement, and command your teammates. I’m going slowly and it feels like it’s taking a while, but I could have gone much faster if I had made different choices during my loadout. All you have to do is make someone an executive.
But it’s also a challenging simulation game that simulates machines that don’t actually exist. Everything that stands between you and a sense of competent combat is a choice made by the developers.
Mechaculpa
Based on my conversations with long-time MechWarrior fans and reading many positive reviews that made me wonder if something was wrong with me, MechWarrior 5: Clans offers something new, especially a set of ) I think it’s a very attractive product for mecha fans who are hungry for it. During the resurgence of this clan) for quite some time. As a beginner, I’m not very interested. I’m now thinking that if you’re looking for a robot that shakes or wears socks, something like Armored Core VI might be faster. Also, since I didn’t participate in any multiplayer, my standard dismissal for combatant AI only applies half the time.
However, please feel free to let me and each other know what this game looks like for you and how you play it. I’m not bio-engineered for the MechWarrior (I mean, look at the number of contractions I use), but I can still see it looking pretty good for someone who fits better into the chassis.
