Drawing the most diverse crowd ever at New York Fashion Week was Loewe and Jonathan Anderson. Freshly flying back from the Venice Film Festival, the designer arrived in New York to host a dinner celebrating his new partnership with Saks.
Earlier this week, Anderson and Loewe took over the Saks New York flagship store to unveil a limited edition of the label’s Fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Remember the veggie accessories and intricately beaded handbags that made waves? You can immerse yourself in their world through giant sculptures and paintings of even more vegetables and plants that line the store’s windows and main floor. This playful takeover is available until September 23rd. For those looking for preserved foods, shop Anderson’s Saks fall capsule.
“Saks is a very important partner for Loewe and we do great business with them,” Anderson said during cocktail hour on the terrace of Pace Gallery. “We wanted a total takeover with the collection, an experience that expanded on what we’ve already done, including these giant vegetables, and they did just that,” the designer explained. The vegetable theme continued throughout the evening. Centerpieces were made with root vegetables, and the gallery’s lobby was filled with the unique, delicious and mouthwatering scent of Loewe’s Beetroot Candle.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating this important milestone between our brands with the incredibly talented Jonathan Anderson tonight,” said Tracy Margolies, Saks chief merchandising officer. “There is so much to celebrate tonight, but most importantly, we are here to honor one of the most creative minds in fashion: Jonathan Anderson. Saks has been inspired by Jonathan’s innovative, boundary-pushing approach since the beginning of his career at Loewe, and we look forward to many exciting things happening between Saks and Loewe in the future.”
Returning to the guest list, which included Meg Ryan, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Morgan Spector, Mihara, Tracee Ellis Ross and many others who toasted to the evening’s partnership, Anderson said, “It’s always been diverse for us, and we have a lot of people who have become very close friends, but with Loewe, we’ve always tried to build a family.”
