Pastor Gilbert Andre Thompson Jr., better known as Pastor Andy, was granted a “complete” divorce from his wife of 33 years after they legally separated in March 2023.

But details about the lavish lifestyle of Pastor Andy, who heads the 15,000-member World Overcomers Christian Church in Durham, North Carolina, have come to light through recently filed divorce papers.
The documents detailed his $2.8 million home, a $1.3 million alimony agreement and a string of legal issues.
The alimony settlement will see Thompson pay $12,000 a month for nine years, totaling $1.3 million.
Additionally, the real estate deed indicates Thompson will retain the couple’s 58-acre property in North Carolina, just north of their current residence.
According to public records, the Thompsons’ home is a 14,000-square-foot mansion in North Carolina that’s outfitted with luxury amenities, including a home gym, a movie theater, and an infinity pool with a hot tub.
The property, listed as being valued at $2.8 million on Zillow, was purchased by World Overcomers Christian Church in 2018 from 2020 Properties LLC for $1.53 million.
The church then transferred the property to another nonprofit, Restore Community Development, in 2021 with no money changing hands.
Despite the enormous size of the estate, the real estate agreement stipulates that the pastor’s ex-wife, Dekira Thompson, will receive only $50,000 from the sale of the 58-acre estate.
She also plans to keep a modest rental home in another part of the state, worth just $154,000.
As part of the settlement, Pastor Thompson assumed a debt to the IRS of $25,602.
He also retained ownership of four of his adult children’s cars, in addition to his own Ford F-150, while Dekeela was gifted a 2010 Kia Soul.
Both parties maintained control of their respective businesses.
Thompson will retain Projects of Home Inc., and his ex-wife will retain Thompson Communications Group, LLC.

World Overcomers Christian Church was founded in 2003 by Pastor Thompson.
The church claims to be one of the fastest growing churches in America, reaching more than one million people each week through Thompson’s television program, “The Truth.”
Pastor Thompson is also the author of the relationship advice books “Real Love Dating” and “Real Love Marriage.”
The couple, who had previously been advertised on Thompson’s personal website as a marriage counselor, touted the “wisdom and knowledge” that has sustained their “true love” for nearly three decades.
However, during a recent sermon on July 28, Pastor Thompson preached without his wedding ring, and those in attendance noticed.
But despite the personal success of Pastor Thompson and the church, both have faced legal troubles.
According to court records, since 2017, the church and Pastor Thompson have been named in two negligence lawsuits, one contract dispute and allegations involving minors.
