Melbourne Airport has announced plans for the Elite Park development, an entertainment and lifestyle destination precinct.
The 32-hectare site, located between the Tullamarine Freeway and Airport Drive, is expected to support more than 2,100 jobs.
Subject to federal government approval, Elite Park will be developed in three phases over nine years, with construction due to begin in 2025.
The first new residents are expected to be welcomed by the end of 2026.
Jay McDermott, director of ground transportation, real estate and retail, said Elite Park was designed to be both a work and leisure destination, with entertainment and retail facilities.
“Melbourne Airport is more than just an airport – we’re creating jobs and building a community space where people can spend time with friends and family,” he said.
“Elite Park will support the continued growth of Hume City as a tourism destination. One of the proposed tenants is Topgolf, which is set to open its first venue in Melbourne.”
The development is expected to add approximately $246 million to the Victorian economy each year.
Plans for the Elite Park Precinct are officially unveiled today and feedback will be invited from local residents until December 20th.
