For Jennifer Lopez, love may not have a “price,” but divorce certainly does.
The “My Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer filed for divorce from Ben Affleck last Tuesday after months of speculation that their relationship was over.
The power couple had a second wedding in Georgia just two years before Lopez filed her lawsuit.
A source told People magazine in June that Lopez was living in her 38,000-square-foot Beverly Hills home while Affleck was living in a nearby rental as he tried to sell his pricey mansion. The couple purchased the home in May 2023 for $60.805 million and put it on the market earlier last month for $68 million.

“He started moving out some time ago,” a source told Fox News Digital at the time. “The marriage is completely over and Jennifer is heartbroken. She loved her love and really wanted the relationship to work.”
In Tuesday’s filing, obtained by Fox News Digital, Lopez did not say whether she and Affleck had a prenuptial agreement.
Reports have surfaced that Affleck and Lopez did not have a prenuptial agreement when they wed in 2022, but celebrity divorce lawyer Christopher Melcher told Fox News Digital that he was hesitant to make any judgments about asset division.
“Because Jennifer was not required to disclose in court documents whether she had a prenuptial agreement with Ben, we should not draw any conclusions about whether or not there was one,” he said. “It would be natural for a couple like this to have a prenuptial agreement.”
He added, “Although the marriage lasted only two years, both parties have significant assets, which complicates the divorce. Privacy can be maintained by reaching an agreement on all aspects of the divorce.”

However, if reports that the former couple didn’t have a prenuptial agreement are true, their $68 million mansion, which is currently for sale, could be considered community property, along with the income they’ve earned from their jobs since getting married.
Since their marriage, Lopez has produced “Shotgun Wedding,” “This Is Me…Now,” “Mother” and “Atlas,” while Affleck has produced “Hypnotic” and “Air,” both of which grossed more than $90 million worldwide, as well as “Kiss the Future,” “Small Things Like These” and “Instigators.”

As of 2020, Lopez’s net worth is estimated at $150 million from her music, film, fashion, fragrance line, and JLo Beauty, while Affleck’s is estimated at $55 million, according to Forbes.
According to the New York Post, their net worth has increased significantly since their marriage, with Lopez now worth about $400 million and Affleck worth $150 million.
Lopez also launched her Delora Cocktails line last year and is a brand ambassador for Intimissimi lingerie and Coach.

“Ben has been working nonstop and spending a lot of time in the office,” a source told Fox News Digital about how Affleck has been keeping busy since the split. “He’s working on a lot of exciting projects. He’s pretty active with his company[Artists’ Equity]. He really wants to continue to focus on directing, acting and producing.”
Lopez also released the album “This Is Me… Now” earlier this year, and People reports that the former couple also collaborated on “Unstoppable” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” both of which starred Lopez and were produced by Artist Equity.
