Mindy Kaling’s eldest daughter, Katherine “Kit”, already looks a lot like her mother and is already becoming quite the fashionista just like her.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Kaling said her 6-year-old daughter Kit is already loving all things makeup and fashion. In fact, she loves extravagant looks, especially ball gowns.
“She has a very specific vision of what she considers beautiful and what isn’t,” she said. “(The dress) is not attractive to her unless it touches the ground. I think it’s because you can’t wear an evening-length gown until first grade. So it’s like a taboo. That’s why when I go out… Sometimes, if I’m just wearing a minidress, she says, “I’m not on the ground.” It’s not beautiful. ” So she has a lot of strong opinions. ”

Kit is only six years old, but it’s clear she’s becoming her mom’s mini-stylist. In addition to loving a certain type of fashion, she already loves makeup, but Ms. Kaling wasn’t quite ready for that.
“I thought I would wait until my daughter was 13 or 14 to start getting interested,” she said. “But on very special days, for her birthday party, I’m going to put on a little bit of eyeshadow because I know it’s a slippery slope. So I’m like, what’s going to happen on Friday? It’s like, “No, no.” But I think of it more as a fun face painting and costume type thing that I do with her once or twice a year, and she really loves it. ”
Kaling tries to keep her kids private from the public eye, but when the time comes, she’s sure her daughter Kit will share her super cool style with everyone. .

For those who don’t know, Kaling has three children: Katherine “Kit” born in December 2017, Spencer born in September 2020, and Anne born in February 2024.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, Kaling talked about how her two older children’s personalities were so different, even back then.
“I mean, my daughter is very funny, very smart, very loving, and I’m actually pretty close with her. And my son is very smiley and cheerful, so when my daughter was born as a baby, “For the first year, when I left my daughter with someone else, she started screaming just because she wanted to be around,” she said. “But my son, if I left my 4-month-old son with a stranger, he would say, ‘Wow, this is my mom now, bye-bye!'” he said.
