With the launch of this new Mini Cooper Convertible, the Mini family is almost complete.
Following the launch of the new generation Mini in September 2023, this new convertible promises to bring the joy of open-top motoring with a roof that opens in just 18 seconds.
But this isn’t just a regular folding roof, Mini says it can be opened in two ways: as a sunroof or fully retracted. Additionally, you can now also choose to store the soft top in the luggage compartment if you don’t want to place it behind the rear seats.
Need more convincing to buy than a regular hardtop? Mini also offers this roof in gray Union Jack instead of the standard black item.
Do you have luggage to take to the ferry? This new Mini Cooper convertible offers a total of 160 liters of space in the boot, which can expand to 215 liters with the top extended. While focusing on practicality, wind deflectors are installed behind the driver and passenger seats to reduce wind noise and turbulence while driving.
Speaking of which, the convertible now offers a choice of 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. These start with the Mini Cooper C Convertible, offering a total power output of 161bhp and peak torque of 250Nm. Its lovely body and its entire roof mechanism is enough to see it reach 100km/h from standstill in 8.2 seconds. A Mini Cooper S Convertible will also be offered, with corresponding figures of 201bhp, 300Nm and 6.9 seconds.
The Mini Cooper Convertible will be produced at the Mini factory in Oxford. First deliveries are expected to begin in early 2025.
In the meantime, we’re all looking forward to the unveiling of the new JCW variant of this new Mini family.
