Next month, Meltrice Sharp, a certified public accountant, will host a financial empowerment conference for women known as Money Makeover at the Westin in downtown Cleveland.
CLEVELAND — Are you facing money problems right now?
CPA Meltrice Sharp of CLE Consulting stopped by the WKYC studios Tuesday morning to talk with 3News’ Danita Harris about what people can do to get out of the debt cycle they’re stuck in.
“First, you have to choose what you want to do,” Sharpe says. “Second, and most importantly, you have to figure out where you’re starting from. A lot of people avoid facing that, but if you can’t face it, you’ll never fix it. Once a year, you can go to CreditRepair.com, get your credit report, and understand where you’re starting from and what you need to fix to get where you need to be.”

She also said it’s important to have a financial plan.
“Instead of figuring out where your money went, decide how you’re going to spend it. Literally just make a plan,” Sharpe says. “If you don’t plan, you’re planning to fail. Make a plan, make a budget, and make sure you know where and when you’re going to spend your money.”
“Money Makeover” Conference
Next month, Sharp will host a women’s financial empowerment conference (known as Money Makeover), which will be held Aug. 2-4 at the Westin in downtown Cleveland and “where wealth building and sisterhood meet.”
According to the event website, “This is an unprecedented opportunity to learn the right financial moves to build generational wealth.”
Danita will be the keynote speaker at Sunday’s event.
Tickets for the Money Makeover conference can be purchased here.
