House Speaker Nancy Pelosi opted for two different looks during the second day of the Democratic National Convention at the United Center in Chicago and during her Tuesday appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The former House speaker spoke with Colbert about the 2024 presidential election, scheduled for November.
For the Democratic National Convention, Pelosi chose Dolce & Gabbana’s majolica print round neck midi dress, which was inspired by hand-painted majolica tiles and featured an intricately designed pattern on the white base of the silk dress.

The design featured vibrant pink and fuchsia hues from the round neckline to the three-quarter sleeves and midi-length hemline, which Pelosi paired with a white pearl necklace.
After attending the Democratic National Convention, Pelosi appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” who had relocated from New York to Chicago to cover the DNC. For the late-night talk show interview, she changed from her Dolce & Gabbana midi dress into a bright yellow jacket, crisp white trousers, and pointy heels.

As she has done in the past, Pelosi paired her yellow jacket, which has a sharp collar and soft shoulders, with a round necklace in a similar, complementary yellow color, which she previously paired with the outfit and accessory during an appearance on “Good Morning America” on August 5.
In the interview with Colbert, Pelosi reflected on President Joe Biden’s decision last July to suspend his reelection campaign and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for US president, saying, “What we’re talking about now is the sovereignty of that decision, the weight of that decision. It’s selfless, it’s patriotic, and as he said in his speech, ‘I love being president, but I love my country more.’ Now we must go ahead and win the election.”
The 2024 Democratic National Convention is underway in Chicago and will conclude on Thursday, when delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories will gather to formally nominate Harris as their presidential candidate and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as their running mate.
