Fashion icon and beloved ’90s supermodel Naomi Campbell may be one of the most famous people in the world, but outside of her closest friends, few know much about her life these days — her real, private, everyday life. In her latest cover story for Harper’s Bazaar’s August issue, Campbell opens up a little more about her life and opens up about her two kids.
In May 2021, Campbell shocked the world by announcing that she had given birth to a daughter, whom she did not reveal her name, via a surrogate mother. Then, in June 2023, Campbell gave birth to a son, also via a surrogate mother.
Understandably, Campbell has kept her children out of the public eye since they were born, but her daughter was spotted on the cover of British Vogue’s March 2022 issue, arranged by her good friend Edward Enninful, who was the magazine’s editor-in-chief at the time.
But while she didn’t share any personal details about her babies during her conversation with BAZAAR, she did slip into a loving conversation as she gushes about how the babies have changed her life. “It’s the greatest joy,” she says. “The greatest blessing is having these two pure, beautiful souls and me being their mother. I’m learning so much every day. They’re good kids.”
And while the icon has happily dove into motherhood, she’s still Naomi Campbell, keeping busy with modelling, media appearances and activism, and traveling frequently. “I would never take them from New York to London for a two-day shoot – that’s too much,” she says. “But my kids love to travel,” she adds, laughing. “I guess they knew!”
