Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh embarked on the Yuva Garam Pada Yatra and covered 3,132 km ahead of the state assembly elections. Through the Yatra, Lokesh made several promises to the people.
In the election, the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP alliance won an overwhelming victory and formed the government. Since then, Lokesh has been actively working to fulfill his promise.

He has undertaken several initiatives during the Yuva Garam Pada Yatra, including setting up a dialysis center at Bangalpalyam in Putarapattu constituency and increasing support for ‘Dhupa Deepa Naivedial’ in small temples in the state. We have already fulfilled some of the commitments made.
Now, Lokesh has announced that the AP government intends to fulfill another promise it made during the Yatra. He said that on the request of Boya and Valmiki communities, Valmiki Jayanti will be officially celebrated across the state.

Sharing this, Lokesh said, “Another promise I gave in Yuvagaram padayatra was fulfilled by the people’s government led by Chandrababu garu.During my padayatra, brothers from Boya and Valmiki communities asked me to celebrate Valmiki Jayanti as a state festival.”
“Respecting their feelings, orders have been issued to formally celebrate Valmiki Jayanti at all district headquarters on the 17th of this month. On the same day, we will be organizing a state-level Valmiki Jayanti event at Anantapur. We also plan to celebrate,” Lokesh added.

Asserting TDP’s commitment to BC communities, he wrote: “Telugu Desam Party is the birthplace of BC. Our government will always take steps to boost their self-respect.”
