August 14, 2024 – This is the third round of seed funding awarded through NASA’s MOSAICS (Academic Institutions STEM Mentoring and Opportunities for Community Success) program, formerly known as the Science Mission Directorate Bridge Program, which seeks to expand research opportunities in NASA science and engineering fields and access to the NASA workforce.
“The STEM workforce continues to grow. Today’s students, studying at a variety of higher education institutions, including community colleges, primarily undergraduate institutions and minority-serving institutions, are tomorrow’s STEM workforce, working to solve some of the nation’s greatest challenges while answering our biggest space questions,” said Paddy Boyd, director of MOSAICS at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “Exposing today’s students to the incredibly exciting, cutting-edge discoveries made possible by NASA’s space science talent and resources ensures these students receive the training they need to continue their careers in STEM fields and fosters lasting collaborations between NASA researchers and faculty at a variety of institutions.”
