The Alienware m16 R2 is lighter and slimmer than its predecessor, the m16 R1. It eliminates the protrusion behind the display, reducing dimensions and weight by 14%. Additionally, the m16 R2 is equipped with a lower voltage Intel Meteor Lake CPU, which consumes less power, produces less heat and makes less noise. If you don’t like the super eye-catching RGB glow of the original m16 R1, you can switch to a more subtle white LED backlight.
This Alienware m16 R2 laptop features a 16″ 2560×1600 QHD+ display, the new 14th Gen Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 32GB DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is the latest generation Meteor Lake CPU with 16 cores, 22 threads, 24MB cache, and a Turbo Boost maximum clock speed of 4.8GHz. The Core Ultra 7 is the successor to the Intel Core i7 CPU, offering similar performance while consuming less power, resulting in less heat and longer battery life. This is a new processor and should be even faster with future optimizations.
The RTX 4070 Mobile GPU performance is on par with the RTX 3080 Mobile. This is the amount of power you need to comfortably run games on the laptop’s enhanced 2560×1600 or QHD+ display. The GPU is not limited in any way. The TGP watt rating is 140W (115W + 25W Dynamic Boost), which is the highest.
