What happened to Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek?
The actresses were involved in what appeared to be a tense moment at the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week two weeks ago.
In a video that went viral on social media over the weekend, Hayek, 58, tried to direct Kidman, 57, to the other camera after posing for a group photo with Katy Perry on Sept. 30.
But Ms Kidman pushed Ms Hayek’s arm away and turned her attention to Ms Perry, 39.
Hayek, whose husband Francois-Henri Pinault owns Balenciaga, appeared nervous after an awkward exchange with Kidman, who is the company’s brand ambassador.
After greeting Perry, Kidman briefly exchanged words with Hayek.
While posing for a photo with Perry, the “Desperado” actress could be heard telling Kidman, “Yes, please.” advice. “
“You don’t have to,” Kidman replied off-camera.
“Yes,” Hayek retorted.
The newspaper has contacted representatives for Hayek and Kidman for comment.
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to speculate about what happened between the two stars in Paris.
“Nicole was looking away from it. Looked like Salma was trying to help her,” one person tweeted.
“She definitely looked bothered by Salma. Yeah,” said another.
“She didn’t seem to understand that Salma was trying to physically move her. She said something with a slight smile on her face, and when Salma wouldn’t let go, she let go.” someone else tweeted.
Most fans who watched the video claimed they did not hear Kidman tell Hayek, “Don’t touch me.”
On October 1, the day after the incident, Hayek shared a photo of herself and Kidman at the Balenciaga show on Instagram.
In the photo, Kidman posed next to Salma, who was looking straight into the camera, smiling and staring at the floor.
Hayek’s posts included photos with Perry and Lindsay Lohan, as well as several solo shots in which she sported an all-black ensemble.
“Finally last night we had the grand finale of Paris Fashion Week 2025… 👏 Amazing show from Balenciaga and Demna @katyperry @lindsaylohan @nicolekidman,” Hayek captioned the post.
Kidman attended Paris Fashion Week just weeks after her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, passed away at the age of 84.
The “Big Little Lies” star left the Venice Film Festival in early September due to the death of his mother.
“The family is grieving and requests privacy at this time,” Kidman’s rep said in a statement to The Post at the time.
Kidman later released her own statement on Instagram, thanking fans for the “outpouring of love and kindness” they have shown the actress and her sister Antonia.
“All the messages we have received from those who loved and respected our mother mean more to us than we can ever express,” Kidman wrote. “Thank you for respecting our privacy as our entire family looks out for each other.”
