It’s really cruel here. Olivia Rodrigo’s lyrics mimic life when she takes a mean fall through a trap door on stage during a Guts World Tour show in Australia.
“Bad idea, right?” On Sunday, October 13, the 21-year-old singer accidentally fell through a trapdoor and suddenly disappeared while performing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
As the crowd gasped, Rodrigo stood up and joked about the incident.
“Oh my god, it was fun! I’m fine,” the Grammy winner said, laughing as he pulled himself up and looked at his unexpected fall.
“Wow, sometimes there’s a hole in the stage,” she laughed. “That’s fine.”
The “Vampire” singer took a deep breath and said, trying to calm herself down. How are you doing tonight, Melbourne? ”
Rodrigo quickly recovered from the spill and finished the concert without falling again. She later poked fun at the accident via TikTok.
She posted a clip of the accident and captioned the footage, “#SubtleOmen.”
The pop star has a few shows remaining on the Australian leg of her first world tour. There is one more show in Melbourne and four shows in Sydney.
Rodrigo’s sudden fall comes weeks before the release of the Netflix concert film Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour.
The streaming giant filmed the special at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The film promises to give fans a look at her sold-out tour, which featured songs from her latest album “Guts” and debut record “Sour.”
Streaming on Netflix starting October 29th
“We are so excited to share the GUTS World Tour with our fans,” Starr said in a statement. “Those who didn’t have the chance to rock out in person can now have the best seat in the house! And to all the fans who cheered, screamed and danced with us, we’ll do it all over again. I’m so happy that I was able to do this!”
Rodrygo’s 2024 touring year will end after the remainder of her stay in Australia, but she won’t be on vacation for long.
The “Deja Vu” singer’s directorial tour will resume in March 2025 with Lollapalooza in Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Rodrigo will also head to Colombia for the Festival Estereo Picnic, before finishing in Manchester on June 30th and July 1st.
