HED News:
ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Higher Education Department (HED) has announced that the annual College and Career Pathways Day at the New Mexico State Fair will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11 in the Main Street area of the Expo New Mexico Fairgrounds.
Pathways to College and Careers is a one-day opportunity for New Mexico students of all ages to learn about the offerings of various higher education institutions across the state. Students can learn about various financial aid opportunities, including Opportunity Scholarships and Lottery Scholarships, which provide tuition-free higher education to nearly all New Mexicans, and discuss career paths with their peers and college representatives.
Wednesday, Sept. 11, is a free admission day at the New Mexico State Fair, and the New Mexico Department of Higher Education expects about 8,000 prospective students to visit the College Pathway and Career Day exhibits.
“Each year, we are excited to take part in this wonderful occasion and spread the good word about the fantastic higher education opportunities in our state,” said Secretary of Higher Education Stephanie M. Rodriguez. “Tuition-free college will make fulfilling careers here in New Mexico more accessible than ever before.”
24 universities and 19 educational institutions are participating.
