The Dover Clubhouse was filled with a lively atmosphere as people streamed through the front doors to chat with vendors, pick up giveaways and sway to the music. It was a return of the Thrive Dover – Senior Life After 55 event held July 19. The 2024 lifestyle event brought together exhibitors, food and activities and was presented by the Daily State News in partnership with Noble’s Pond.
Active seniors were invited to learn, explore and enjoy this free event at Noble’s Pond, a lifestyle community for those over 55. Activities included cooking demos, several dance demos, a floral arranging demo, door prizes, model home tours, activities and many vendors sharing their expertise on health, housing, finances and more.
“The goal of the Thrive event is to provide information to help improve the lifestyles of our senior community,” said Heather Kreger, director of marketing and promotions for Banner.
“In essence, the over 55s can be seen as a time to thrive, as it provides a combination of experiences, resources and personal freedom that allows individuals to pursue their passions, maintain their health and wellbeing, and make a meaningful contribution to society and their own lives,” said Jessica Cook, DSN Special Events Manager.
A relatively recent transplant to the area, Steven Clark is one of our Thrive guests who has retired to Delaware and is enjoying building a life around all the nearby activity.
“I’m part of the community here,” Clark said. “I love it here.”
Event sponsors who made the day possible included Bayhealth and Easterseals Delaware & Maryland Eastern Shore.
