Sony has once again turned heads with a new State of Play showcase just days before pre-orders for the notoriously expensive PS5 Pro begin.
The hastily announced September 24 event promises a strong lineup, with Sony teasing “20+ upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world.” The State of Play will be over in just 30 minutes, so it’s expected to fly by.

Ghosts of Mount Yotei appear
Sucker Punch is back with Ghost of Yōtei, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 hit Ghost of Tsushima. This time, the story moves to the year 1603, where a new ghost named Ats embarks on an epic journey through the lands surrounding Mount Yotei. The game promises to be an atmospheric, action-packed adventure set against the breathtaking backdrop of vast grasslands and snow-covered tundra.
Ghost of Yotei is scheduled for release in 2025.
Alan Wake 2: Lake House DLC
The highly anticipated “Lake House” DLC is finally coming to Alan Wake 2, the 2023 Game of the Year. In this expansion, players take on the role of Federal Bureau of Control agent Kiran Estevez, returning from the base game, as she investigates a catastrophic event that occurred at the Federal Bureau of Control research station near Cauldron Lake.
“Lake House” is due for release in October.
Fear the Spotlight is coming to PlayStation
Cozy Game Pals’ Fear the Spotlight, a nostalgic tribute to ’90s PS1-era horror, is getting a major boost with Blumhouse Studios coming on board as publisher.
The creepy survival game will see players follow Vivian and Amy as they sneak into a school after hours and face the horrifying consequences of a séance gone wrong. After an initial release in September 2023, Fear the Spotlight is scheduled to release on PS5 and PS4 on October 22, 2024.
Agasva Tower
Towers of Aghasba is an action-adventure builder set in a striking fantasy world where players are challenged to rebuild both civilization and the surrounding ecosystem.
The game is expected to enter early access in November 2024.
Dynasty Warriors Origins Release Date
Koei Tecmo has officially announced the release date for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam on January 17, 2025. Treated as a mainline title rather than a spin-off, Origins will shift to a tactical action RPG format with a storyline that begins before the Yellow Turban Rebellion, exploring Zhang Jiao’s origins and his role in the rebellion.
Monster Hunter Wild release date announced
A new trailer for Monster Hunter Wild has been released, confirming the release date as February 28, 2025.
The latest installment in the series promises to bring a vast new wilderness to explore, filled with giant, ferocious monsters and dynamic environments, and this fresh glimpse can get fans counting down to the highly anticipated release early next year.

Hell is Us gameplay revealed
We’ve got a first look at Rogue Factor’s upcoming game, Hell is Us, a mysterious, atmospheric third-person action experience that blends elements of Remnant, Dark Souls, and Control. It marks a big shift for the studio best known for its tactical RPGs set in the Warhammer universe.
Hell is Us is set in a war-torn country where eerie and unexplained events occur. While the premise may not be the most original, it stands out for its interesting mix of genres and gameplay styles. It is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
Metro Awakening VR
There’s no way I’d turn down a Metro sequel, even if it’s exclusive to PSVR2 this time.
Revealed in its first trailer, Metro Awakening dives deep into the origin story of one of the series’ most beloved characters, Khan, back when he was known as Serdar. The game promises an intense VR experience where players will manually reload, charge their gear, and scavenge for supplies to survive in the harsh world of Metro.
