Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan today supported the Duke of Sussex at the Invictus Games, an event that’s very important to them.
The couple attended a training session for the Colombian Invictus Games team at the Bogota Rehabilitation Center on Friday afternoon, where they were warmly welcomed by several military personnel and a military band. During their stay, the couple toured the facilities, including the swimming pool, rock climbing wall gym and rehabilitation facilities. They also met with members of the Colombian team during a sitting volleyball match and toured the center’s traffic simulation room.
The Duchess looked her best in a sporty, preppy look for the day: a cream maxi skirt with a black circle print, tucked into a crisp white Juliva Heritage button-down shirt. Meghan completed her chic look with brown Jimmy Choo sandals and dangling gold earrings by Xsand.
Harry looked casual in a black Vince polo shirt, grey Banana Republic jeans and grey Vince slide-on sneakers.
“It’s fantastic to have so many people coming together to form one team,” the Duke told Invictus team members during a tour of the centre’s cardiovascular room.
The Duchess was also impressed with the athletes’ performances: “They all performed absolutely brilliantly,” she said.
Harry and Meghan also toured the center’s art hall, which displays artwork created by Invictus athletes, and artists gifted Meghan a painting, hand-crocheted animals, and a beaded necklace with matching earrings.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also attended a game of sitting volleyball with Vice President Francia Marquez and her partner, Rafael Yerny Pinillo. Pinillo and the Duke of Sussex eventually joined in the game, while the Vice President and Duchess cheered on from the sidelines. After the game, Prince Harry greeted a group of Korean War veterans who were thrilled to see him.
The prince was then presented with a special commemorative plaque by the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs. “To Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex,” wrote the athlete who presented Harry with the gift. “We express our gratitude and honour for providing, through sport and the Invictus Games, a valuable opportunity for recovery for Colombia’s wounded, injured and sick military, law enforcement personnel, active duty military and veterans.”
Meghan and Prince Harry spent the morning visiting Colegio La Giralda, a school in Bogota, where they were busy with afternoon activities, stopping by an art class, playing with kindergarten students, helping to plant trees in the school’s backyard, visiting the school’s social-emotional gym, and participating in various stations with student managers.
