The trailer for the live-action remake of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” has been released.
Rachel Zegler, the new Snow White, and Gal Gadot, the new Evil Queen, spoke to the crowd at D23. “It’s the honor of a lifetime,” Zegler said of taking on the role of the princess. “Any young person, any little girl, being able to put on a Disney princess dress and be a princess for even just a day, let alone six months, is just the most amazing experience. I can’t wait to share this experience with all of you.”
“It was so much fun to do something so different from anything I’ve ever done before,” Gadot said of playing the iconic Evil Queen. “She’s fascinating, she’s evil, she’s magical. We got to sing a lot of different songs. It was incredible.”

Disney previously released first-look images from the show, which showed Zegler as Snow White with her trademark bob haircut and surrounded by the seven dwarfs.
Directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man), Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a remake of the original 1937 animated film. The original revolves around a young Snow White who flees her castle after her stepmother, the Evil Queen, becomes jealous of her beauty and orders a hunter to kill her. The hunter fails, and Snow White flees to a hut where she finds the Seven Dwarfs.
When the Evil Queen finds out that Snow White is still alive, she visits her villa and gives her a poisoned apple, which she later wakes up with true love’s kiss from the Prince.

The remake stars Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, and while the original film’s songs will be featured, songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have also written new songs for the reboot.
On the red carpet at the 2022 D23 Expo, Zegler and Gadot spoke to Variety about what’s different about this adaptation.
When asked about the “modern aspects” of the Snow White remake, both Zegler and Gadot said that Zegler’s Snow White will not be saved by a prince.
“[Snow White]doesn’t dream about true love; she dreams about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader her late father told her she could be if she was fearless, just, brave and true,” Zegler said. “So this is really an incredible story that young people all over the world can see themselves in.”
“It was the best experience I’ve ever had working with such an amazing crew,” Gadot said of her experience on set. “I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to play a character that’s so different from what I know and what I’m used to. I just loved every second of it.”
The film was originally scheduled for release on March 22, 2024, but was delayed to March 21, 2025 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
