Sabrina Carpenter made a sparkling statement on the red carpet on Wednesday in an all-silver look with a thigh-high slit at the 2024 Time 100 Next Gala in New York.
The “Espresso” singer wore a slim-fit aluminum metal mesh gown by Versace. The bodice featured a strapless sweetheart neckline with an almost corset-like silhouette. The skirt was floor-length and featured a dramatic thigh-high slit, revealing the singer’s matching platform silver heels. To complete the look, Carpenter wore a metallic scarf styled backwards in the same mesh material as her gown. Her signature blonde hair was worn down in voluminous Old Hollywood waves.
The pop star is among Time magazine’s 100 honorees and will perform a selection of her songs at the gala. Additionally, Carpenter joins NBA player Jaylen Brown and Springboard to Opportunities CEO Aisha Nyandoro on the cover of one of three global covers.
On the cover, Carpenter wore a red archival Victoria Secret dress with heart embellishments that was originally worn by Naomi Campbell in 1997. The dress features a bold ribbon and was styled by Jared Ellner.
In addition to other honors, Carpenter also received a compliment from Christina Aguilera. Christina Aguilera wrote an article for Time magazine that drew similarities between their careers. She highlighted the similar pasts of the two, who went from being Disney Channel child actors to pop stars. Recently, the two were seen singing Aguilera’s “What A Girl Wants” together at Spotify’s anniversary.
