Salem Community High School will hold its second annual career fair next Wednesday, October 30th. More than 40 companies are scheduled to participate in the career fair. Kayla Moch, one of the main coordinators of the event, believes the fair is a great opportunity for students.
“When you grow up in Salem, you see a lot of different businesses going on every day, but you might not know what they do,” Moch said. “I think when you visit these booths, there’s a huge list of all the things they do, all the jobs they cover, and what the students have seen behind the walls of the business. I think it’s really great to be able to learn.”Important. There are so many opportunities in Salem and throughout the county that you don’t necessarily have to leave here to look for work elsewhere. There are many things you can do successfully here. ”
This year, not only sophomores but also juniors and seniors will be participating in the fair. Other schools in Marion County will also participate at certain times. Motsch said the career fair provides opportunities for future co-op students.
“I have a student who is currently working in a co-op. He came across the co-op job at a career fair last year and feels like he has made a great connection.”
The fair is a learning opportunity not only for students but also for companies and staff.
“I was able to interact with business owners, people I wouldn’t normally have met,” Moch said. “I work as a counselor here, so I think that’s also a good thing because I can support students in whatever career path they choose. Maybe they go to university and then go straight into the workforce or the military. Whatever they want to do, this allows them to make more connections and provide more information to their students every day, which is what it’s all about in the end. is.”
