Ahead of the likely debut of One UI 7 this week, Samsung’s new clock app has emerged along with a preview of the company’s updated design language.
Samsung Clock v12.4.00.8 has hit the web this week (available from APKMirror), and it appears to be rolling out to some users ahead of the debut of the first One UI 7 beta. However, this new version can be installed immediately on devices running One UI 6, just like it was possible on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The new app update brings a redesigned UI to different parts of the Clock app, but overall it’s pretty similar. There’s a bit more contrast and some icons added to the bottom bar, but not much has changed in the app itself. The biggest changes can be seen on the home screen.
Samsung’s new icon design for One UI 7, seen in past leaks, sees the app update switch to an updated look for the clock icon, with a larger dial face and colored hour hand, which is in line with the more “textured” look Samsung is working towards.
Beyond that, all widgets have been improved: they consist of large shapes with fully opaque backgrounds, the Analog Clock widget now also displays hour and minute scales, and the World Clock widget is now combined into one two-color block instead of two split shapes that can be resized together.

This is all in line with the leaks we’ve seen so far about One UI 7, with Samsung leaning heavily towards rounded UI elements.
With this early app update, it seems Samsung’s take on Apple’s “Dynamic Island” doesn’t just rely on the apps themselves. One UI 7 leaks show the Clock app taking advantage of this new UI, but on One UI 6 it doesn’t work, instead showing a redesigned picture-in-picture menu, as seen in the photo above (to the right of the app icons).
Samsung’s first One UI 7 beta update based on Android 15 is expected to be released on select devices and regions as soon as tomorrow, July 29. However, the company hasn’t made any announcements yet.
