Samuel L. Jackson is one of Hollywood’s greatest actors. The star has starred in a number of acclaimed films over the years, but the 75-year-old recently reflected on his journey to success.
Samuel L. Jackson can be seen in action in the limited series Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist, and during the premiere, the legendary actor spoke to PEOPLE magazine, reflecting on the growth of his career.
Recalling his early acting days, Jackson said that as a new actor, he feels very lucky when he lands his first film role after many auditions.
But he then climbed the ladder of success over time, citing his own example, saying, “When people started sending me stuff, I had to start choosing what I wanted to do.”
He emphasized that people can make bad decisions and also “good choices” at times.
However, the “Damaged” actor Jackson said he is “lucky” and enjoys all kinds of films, but when it comes to taking part in one, he chooses his projects very wisely.
“When I was younger, or when I was a young actor, I was kind of specific about what roles I wanted to play and what I wanted to see,” the “Pulp Fiction” actor said.
Reflecting on his roles in Marvel Studios films, he said it’s not often that someone offers him a role and at the same time asks for a “nine-movie deal.”
Speaking about the offer from the superhero franchise, Jackson reiterated how fortunate he is to have the chance to play Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Jackson’s most recent project, “Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist,” is the latest installment in the Peacock series, in which he plays crime boss Frank Morten.
The series also stars Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Hart, Don Cheadle and Terrence Howard.The events of the series are based on real events that took place in October 1970, when Muhammad Ali made his return to the boxing ring, attracting a wave of American celebrities.
Following the fight, an armed robbery occurred at an afterparty that sent shockwaves through the lives of many in Atlanta and beyond. According to PEOPLE, the robbers reportedly made off with $1 million in cash, jewelry, and other valuables.
