Selena Gomez put an asymmetrical twist on her LBD at the Rare Impact Fund benefit event held at Nya Studios in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
The ‘Emilia Perez’ star wore a black draped cocktail dress from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2025 collection. The asymmetrical dress had a band of material across the top of the body-hugging bodice, forming shoulder-to-elbow sleeves. The skirt had drapes, gathering on one short side and forming a long skirt on the other, creating an asymmetrical effect.
Gomez completed her ensemble with a silver ring and sleek black pumps that featured asymmetrical details. A shiny strap crosses the toe from medial to lateral and connects at the heel counter.
The “Only Murders in the Building” star was styled by Erin Walsh, who has also worked with celebrities such as Elizabeth Banks and Anne Hathaway. Her shoulder-length hair is styled in loose waves, and her makeup is kept soft and smoky, with neutral eyes and pops of pink on her lips and cheeks.
Gomez founded the Rare Impact Fund in 2020 with the goal of raising $100 million for youth mental health around the world. Other guests included Billy Crudup, athlete Whitney Simmons, and makeup influencer and entrepreneur Jackie Aina. The event also included performances by Karol G and Teddy Swims and a live auction to advance the nonprofit’s mission.
Oscar de la Renta co-creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia took inspiration from roses for their Spring 2025 collection. Rose motifs are prominent in both daywear and eveningwear, with botanical influences evident in Gomez-like lace detailing and draped ensembles, with delicate drapes resembling rose petals.
