On Saturday, Selena Gomez attended the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala wearing a navy suede Alaia halter dress with a revealing leather bustier that created a dramatic neckline. The bodice and skirt hugged her figure and flared out at her feet during the short train ride.
To accessorize, the star wore a sterling silver bracelet and earrings from Tiffany & Co., and her hair was swept back from her face. She wore slightly smokey eyes and pale pink lips.
The Academy Museum Gala supports the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and raises funds for the venue’s exhibits, educational programs, and public programs. The star-studded event is also used to honor filmmakers, with this year’s awards including the Vantage Award to Paul Mescal, the Icon Award to Rita Moreno and the Luminary Award to Quentin Tarantino.
Last month, Gomez participated in the press tour for her new film Emilia Perez, where she works with rare beauty brand and mental health platform Wondermind. Gomez spoke at the company’s Mental Fitness Summit on October 10, coinciding with World Mental Health Day, and revealed some of her difficult moments.
“I actually don’t sleep in my bedroom anymore because I spent so much time in it,” she said. “It reminds me of very dark times.”
Gomez continued: “Anxiety can be very debilitating. I didn’t want to leave my bed for years, partly because I wasn’t working. I had to believe in myself and really push myself a little bit. We must work to enlighten people.”
And she said keeping her circle small has been a big help.
“I don’t have many people in my life. I know who my inner circle is,” she explained. “We have to talk things through. I have a therapist, but it’s also nice to have someone around who just listens. There’s freedom in letting go of things that are holding you back.” .”
