Shiloh Jolie is one step closer to officially changing her last name.
Yesterday it was reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s 18-year-old daughter took out an ad in the Los Angeles Times in which she legally requested to have “Pitt” removed from her last name.
According to reports, Shiloh began the process by filing the paperwork on his birthday in May, but California law requires petitioners to publish their papers in a newspaper for at least four weeks to get a judge’s approval.
It appears Shiloh isn’t the only one of Brad and Angelina’s children looking to change her last name.
In May, it was reported that Jolie’s younger sister, Vivienne (16), was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” on show flyers for the Broadway play “The Outsiders,” in which Jolie served as assistant and co-producer.
Her 19-year-old sister, Zahara, was also seen in a video last year during a college sorority event, where she introduced herself simply as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
Brad and Angelina have six children together, including three sons: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 15. A source recently told People magazine that Brad has “very little contact with his adult children” but “has access to the younger ones per their custody agreement.”
So far, neither Brad nor Angelina have publicly commented on the reports that Shiloh is looking to legally change her last name, but Brad is said to be “aware and upset” about it.
“He knows Shiloh dropped his last name and is upset,” a source told People magazine. “He’s never felt more joyful than when she was born. He’s always wanted a daughter.”
The source added, “Obviously it’s hard for Brad to remember the loss of his children. He loves them and misses them so much. It’s very sad.”
