This past weekend, we concluded the final stop of SI Swimsuit’s “Be You Women’s Empowerment Tour” in partnership with the Big 12 at Texas Christian University. The brand’s models Jasmine Sanders, Katie Austin, Kristen Harper, Camille Kostek and Ellie Tooman will be packed with inspirational panels, exciting activations, meet-and-greets and, of course, makeovers courtesy of Tarte Cosmetics. I visited Fort Worth for a long weekend.
In case you missed the action this weekend, here’s what the SI Swimsuit Models were up to at TCU.
The festival kicked off Thursday with a live workout led by Austin, a four-time SI Swimsuit model and fitness instructor. The sold-out event was held at the O2 Dallas, and attendees had the opportunity to take part in a 45-minute bodyweight sculpting workout class.
After the workout, guests mingled and enjoyed a Beyond Yoga pop-up, snacks and drinks, and the chance to meet and pose with Austin himself.
Among those taking part in the workout were Kelsey Wetterberg, Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and star of the Netflix documentary “America’s Sweethearts,” and O2 founder Brittany Van Dommelen. There was also Mr.
Meanwhile, ready-to-drink wine brand St. Spritz had drinks, koozies and keychains available for guests.
Models began preparing for the main event early Friday morning, starting with a glam session courtesy of Tarte Cosmetics.
During the afternoon panel event, Mr. Kostek, Mr. Tooman, Mr. Sanders, Mr. Austin, and Mr. Harper participated in a discussion with TCU students that focused on assertiveness, self-confidence, and career development.
Austin and Tuman shared their thoughts on being your biggest advocate when achieving your career goals, and Harper opined on not being afraid to change direction.
“I don’t think I have to do what I originally set out to do, even if it’s what I went to school for,” the 2022 Rookie of the Year co-player said. “It’s OK to make these changes. We didn’t waste any time.”
Austin added that there’s nothing better than stepping out of your comfort zone in the pursuit of living your best life.
“Sometimes it’s good to be scared,” she says. “Getting out of your comfort zone teaches you a lot about yourself. And when you overcome that fear and how afraid you are and all of a sudden you start doing more and more of whatever it is and you become more comfortable. , there is nothing more powerful.”
Additionally, Kostek and Sanders both touched on how important it is to first build a relationship with yourself before seeking validation outside.
“Think about it, do I love myself? Do I want to date myself? Do I want to be friends with myself?” Sanders suggested. “Also, take the time to look, hey, am I bored when I’m alone? Or do I really enjoy my alone time? … I love myself and I truly love that relationship. Remember to tell yourself you are building.”
After the panel discussion, guests interacted with the models and received touch-ups courtesy of the Tarte Cosmetics Beauty Bar, which featured the brand’s best-selling products.
Models and SI Swimsuit staff wrapped up the weekend by attending TCU’s homecoming football game against Texas Tech. The Horned Frogs won by a score of 35-34.
This fall, SI Swimsuit’s “Be You Women’s Empowerment Event” was also held at the University of Utah and the University of Colorado Boulder. Check out SI Swimsuit’s Instagram account for more photos and videos from the fun weekend in partnership with the Big 12.
