There are new developments regarding the death of Slash’s stepdaughter, Lucy Blue Knight.
Knight’s autopsy has been completed and his body is being prepared for release, The Washington Post confirmed.
The cause of death has been postponed pending further testing, according to Los Angeles coroner’s records.
An investigator has been assigned to the case.
According to records obtained by The Washington Post, Knight died at age 25 on July 19 in a private home.
Thrash, 59, announced his daughter-in-law’s death on Sunday, saying she “passed away peacefully.”
“Lucy Blue was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a fascinating, loving and kind soul,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist asked that people respect his family’s privacy and “keep social media speculation to a minimum” as he “grieves and processes this tragic loss.”
Knight is the daughter of Slash’s longtime partner Megan Hodges and her former partner Mark Knight. Slash first dated Hodges in 1989 and rekindled their relationship in 2015.
Three hours after the rock singer shared the tragic news of Knight’s death, a selfie of the 25-year-old Knight was posted to her social media with a cryptic message.
In the photo, Knight is wearing glasses and two necklaces and is looking away from the camera with a serious expression.
“I’m sorry if I alienated you, if I manipulated or controlled you, if I told you to quit your day job because I felt safe knowing my parents were financially supporting you, or if I masked real issues with toxic positivity,” the caption began.
“I have missed out on countless opportunities and connections because of my overbearing ego, insecurity and fear of being vulnerable,” the message added. “May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job as Lucy Blue. Peace 🌷.”
Knight had not posted to Instagram since January 4.
The post included a photo of a painting that Knight said showed a person wearing a white dress and green cowboy shoes.
Before Knight’s death was announced, Slash had canceled four scheduled dates on his solo SERPENT tour, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”
“We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” the statement read.
Slash helped form Guns N’ Roses in 1985.
He left the band in 1996, only to rejoin the group exactly 20 years later.
The celebrated musician has also had success as a solo artist, releasing two solo studio albums: 2010’s Slash and 2024’s Orgy of the Damned.
