Stylist-approved fall fashion trends
Textured skirt
To transition from summer’s denim or poplin skirts, opt for styles with different textures to “bring depth to your look,” says Kosky. Naturally, skirts have the power to “elevate any outfit,” and this styling technique will take your ensemble a step further. Kosky is “obsessed with wool mini skirts” right now, along with faux suede, leather, and colored denim for added visual interest. She recommends styling a textured skirt with a lightweight cardigan and flats, or a T-shirt, belt, and kitten-heeled mules. Regardless of how you wear them, “skirts are here to stay this fall,” says Kosky.
Stud Accessories
Looking to step up your accessories game next season? Studs will be your new best friend. Whether your style is edgy or not, studs can elevate any look. “It all comes down to styling,” says Kosky. Dip your toe (literally) in the trendy waters with studded ballet flats, or for a more daring flair, embrace Kosky’s “staple look” by pairing an embellished belt or bag with jeans and a sweater.
Bohemian blouse
Kosky calls “bohemian chic coming back into fashion.” She says that “loose chiffon blouses” with “exaggerated sleeves” will be this year’s “fall trend.” When it comes to styling statement tops, Kosky recommends rocking trusty basics like “relaxed blue denim” and incorporating chunky gold jewelry to truly embrace the “bohemian vibe.” To try out this trend, check out the options above, including floral and gorgeous ruffle styles.
Leopard print
According to Kosky, “leopard print is becoming more and more fashionable,” so show off your wild side this fall. The stylist recommends making the bold print the “centerpiece of your ensemble,” pairing it with “darker, more relaxed denim” and black slingback heels or flats and accessories — unless you opt for a printed shoe, like these ones, to elevate any outfit. Kosky advises “not to over-accessorize” when embracing the animal print trend, but rather, “let the leopard print do all the talking.”
