Tesla has quietly added three new climate settings to its vehicles in a new software update, one of which makes it more comfortable to use your phone without having to touch the controls.
Tesla’s climate control system is one of the most robust and advanced of any car on the market. Everything from pre-conditioning the cabin to dog mode to using a heat pump to prevent range loss in winter is available in your Tesla.
However, the company is constantly improving its vehicles through over-the-air software updates. Most recently, Tesla released software version 2024.26.1, which comes with several new features that make HVAC better than ever before.
Charging and preconditioning schedule
According to Not a Tesla App, Tesla has updated its charging and pre-conditioning features with a scheduling feature, allowing owners to select pre-determined times to perform these tasks.
The site says:
“Through a redesigned menu or through the Tesla mobile app, you can schedule vehicle charging or preconditioning. You can choose a location, set a one-time schedule or have it repeat at a specific time or day of the week, and control when charging starts and stops.
To schedule charging and preconditioning, tap Controls > Schedule.
Redesigned Climate Panel
Tesla is introducing a new, easier-to-operate climate panel that makes selecting comfort settings even easier.
Some owners complain that it’s difficult to adjust the interior temperature and air vents while driving.
Tesla has heard this and is streamlining their panels even further.
Automatic mid-call reduction
Perhaps one of the most logical features currently available in Tesla vehicles is the automatic reduction in fan speed when a phone call is initiated.
Air conditioning in guestrooms can create background noise that can make it difficult to make phone calls.
Auto mode automatically lowers the air conditioning and reduces the volume during phone calls, making it easier to talk and hear.
