Thane: A woman kidnaps her ex-husband with the help of her brother and in-laws. registered incident
Thane police on Saturday booked a woman and her relatives for allegedly kidnapping her estranged husband over a dispute over financial settlement of divorce.
The victim has been identified as a 44-year-old man from Punjab Colony in Ulhasnagar district. According to a report by news agency PTI, he was allegedly abducted by a group of men on June 20 as he left his home to go shopping. Police believe the man was kidnapped on the orders of his estranged wife.
The gang threatened him to pay more compensation to his estranged wife. INRAbout 150,000 to 200,000. Officials at Ulhasnagar Central Police Station said the victim was abducted by a gang and taken to a secluded location when she expressed her inability to pay any more money.
The man was kept in a dilapidated house until September 28, when two more men were placed in his charge to prevent him from escaping. The victim was also at constant risk for his life unless he increased the compensation awarded to his wife.
He managed to escape from custody and filed a police report on Saturday. Thane police launched an investigation based on the victim’s complaint.
The FIR was lodged under Section 140(2) (kidnapping or kidnapping for murder or ransom), Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation), Section 352 (deliberate insult with intent) against his wife, girlfriend. brother and four other associates. Police said the incident falls under Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing injury) and Section 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita Act.
