There’s little time to prepare for the end of Gate 3 in Baldur. Until the end, it means a final big update to the RPG. Larian shared last year that he will get one last Harley, despite saying that Patch 7 will be the last major one. Now, in a simple little video posted yesterday on the official Larian YouTube channel, the developers confirmed that Patch 8 will drop next week on April 15th. There will also be a special small live stream that will be on BST on April 16th at 9am/9pm/2pm. Senior systems designer Ross Stephens chats about the game after seeing new patches.
Also, the update is amazing! First of all, this one means that cross-play comes and anyone can play. The game also comes with a photo mode. This really elevates the Gate 3 of Baldur, suitable for a 2000s dress-up game. It looks quite detailed, but there are many ways to tinker with many settings to make party members look even more like Hanky.

The biggest addition to the game is definitely the new subclass of all. There is one for each of the main classes, all of which have new abilities, summons, cantrips, and so on. For example, Clerics has access to the Death Domain Subclass, which comes with the new Necromancy Cantrips and Spells.
I really love the appearance of the blade subclass in the wizard. This allows you to cast spells using your sword. Plus, you can “give a bonus to supernatural speed, agility, focus, and even the constitutional savings slow you make.”
Larian says there may be some small updates in the future, but in the meantime they’re cooking something new, whatever it is.
