Valentina Sampaio feels noticed and celebrated since appearing at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show…where she made history as one of the first trans models to attend a runway event. I made it.
We caught up with the Brazilian model, who was making her big debut, and she revealed that the importance of her runway walk was not lost on her…she confessed that the moment was a “dream come true”. did.
She said… “A lot of people used to tell me ‘no.'” It was impossible for me to make it (the dream) come true — (but) I just made it happen. I did it. ”
Valentina praised Victoria’s Secret for letting her take part in the revived fashion show, saying it made her feel accepted as a model.
She said: “This is a step forward in celebrating the rights of my community: the right to live and work with dignity.”
Naturally, Valentina and Alex Consani’s appearance at the VS Fashion Show sparked strong reactions from trolls on the internet…but the model told us she wasn’t going to fall for the chatter.
In fact, Valentina indicated after the show that the hate had little effect on her good vibes, adding… “We’re here. We’ll always be here.” And we will always be here.”
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned this week after a six-year hiatus, and it was an event to remember, with some industry legends in attendance. Not only did veteran Angel Tyra Banks close out the show, but supermodels such as Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid and Alessandra Ambrosio were also in attendance.
Former Victoria’s Secret It Girl Gisele Bündchen did not attend, but sources say she turned down the show’s invitation to walk the runway.
