The father of Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has criticized the X social media platform over its recent reporting on arms dealers in Yemen, and said Kelce is no longer welcome on the platform.
Ed Kelsey shared an article based on a report in The London Times that claimed that arms dealers in the war-torn country were selling weapons in X and appeared to be doing business in the capital, Sanaa, territory controlled by the Houthi rebels.
Kelsey shared the article on her Facebook page.
“Arms dealers are free to peddle their wares on X, but I’ve been permanently banned with no explanation given, just a general ‘Terms of Use’ violation,” he wrote.
Mr X declined to comment on the Times of London report.
As Travis revealed on a June episode of “Bussin’ with the Boys,” Kelsey is apparently active on Facebook.
Travis spoke about his father seeing rumors and false posts about him and Taylor Swift on Facebook.
At the very least, Kelsey said, her dad checks in with her to make sure things are going smoothly around the house.
“You know what he’ll do? He’ll see something big happen and he’ll be like, ‘What is this?'” the three-time Super Bowl champion said. “It’ll be something really unexpected, like something to do with me and Taylor, and he’ll be like, ‘Hey, what’s up, you guys OK?'”
“I said, ‘Dad, get off Facebook. Are you kidding me?’ It’s his search engine.”
The Kelce family is preparing for the 2024 season, with the Chiefs opening their latest title defense on Sept. 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.
