Trisha Yearwood, who has been married to Garth Brooks since 2005, sold her home in Brentwood, Tennessee, on Wednesday, just 24 hours before her superstar husband was accused of rape and assault. .
A listing for the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home on Realtor.com shows it sold for $3.34 million on Oct. 2.
The 6,553-square-foot property had been listed multiple times over the years, but failed to sell despite several price reductions. It most recently returned to the market on September 11th.
Yearwood, 60, purchased the property in 2000 and used it as the setting for her Emmy-winning cooking show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, according to a local Fox News article.
This picturesque single-family home features a chef’s kitchen with high-end Wolf appliances, fireplace, in-ground pool, and two gated entrances for added privacy.
Page Six reached out to a representative for Yearwood for comment on the timing of the sale, but did not immediately receive a response.
On Thursday, a California woman who identified herself only as Jane Roe filed a sexual assault and assault lawsuit against Brooks, 62.
She alleged that the country singer, who allegedly worked for him as a hairstylist and make-up artist, repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances towards her.
One of Law’s most bombshell claims was that in May 2019, during a work trip to Los Angeles for a Grammy Awards tribute, Brooks booked a hotel room for just the two of them and raped her there. Ta.
In another incident from the same year, she claimed the “Friends in Low Places” singer walked out in front of him naked after taking a shower at Lowe’s home.
The suspect allegedly “grabbed her hand and pressed his genitals against her” while yelling vulgar language at her.
Law also claimed that Brooks had “repeatedly made statements” about having “a threesome” with her and Yearwood.
Mr. Brooks, through his agent, denied the charges and claimed to be the victim of extortion.
“For the past two months, I have been bombarded with endless threats, lies, and tragic stories about what my future will be if I don’t write a check for millions of dollars. It was like it was thrown in my face,” the “Dance” singer told Page Six in a statement earlier this week.
“Hush money is still hush money, more or less. In my mind, it means admitting something you can’t do, something ugly that a human being should never do to another person.” I will.”
Last month, Ms. Brooks filed her own lawsuit alleging extortion and “defamation” to prevent Ms. Roe from going public with her accusations.
“If tomorrow never comes,” the singer added. “I trust the system and I’m not afraid of the truth. And I’m not who they portray me to be.”
Mr. Brooks returned to the Las Vegas concert stage within hours of filing the lawsuit Thursday.
Yearwood has not yet released a statement on the matter.
The couple, who have been married for nearly 20 years and have daughters Taylor, August and Ali, appear to have had a solid marriage up until now.
Yearwood gushed to People magazine this week that she and Brooks are “best friends,” but added, “We have a love that will last beyond this lifetime. I found her in a previous life.” Find her at the event.
The “Thunder Rolls” singer added that while he enjoys being his wife’s partner during the good times, “we get through the bad times together because it brings us together.”
