“Lack of sleep increases stress and increases cortisol levels, which break down the collagen and elastin that keep your skin looking fresh.
“According to the National Institutes of Health, stress can also damage DNA, shorten the lifespan of cells and accelerate aging.”
Sleep and stress reduction are closely related. Studies have shown that getting enough sleep improves your mood and reduces stress levels, especially for people who get at least eight hours of sleep a night.
Moisturized skin also looks more youthful. This can be achieved by drinking water, eating hydrating foods, and using skin care products.
The expert added, “Staying hydrated means more than just drinking water.
